Am-Mex offers manufacturing services in our facility located on the U.S. side of the border in Mcallen, Texas.
This operation focuses on machine intensive manufacturing due to
the high cost of facilities, utilities and industrial infrastructure in Mexico. Cost of land
in industrial parks, as well as the facilities themselves, are much
more costly in Mexico than they are in the United States. As a result
it is more cost effective to run large machines requiring few operators
(or automated machinery) on the U.S. side. A twin plant concept with
a capital/machine intensive operation producing components (or subassemblies)
on the U.S. side which are consumed by direct labor assembly lines
in Reynosa can be very effective.
